On September 27, Chili’s donated all their profits to St. Jude’s Hospital Research Center. FL1-W did an impromptu luncheon to help with that. It is not hard to go and do this kind of charity because we love to eat at Chili’s. The group that got together at 11:30 a.m. was Nolan, Carolyn, Kevin, Jim P, Marilyn and Ruth and we know it was FUN! We know the money was well spent. James and I went that night to Chili’s in Apopka to get in our support.

The folks at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Apopka said thank you to FL1-W for our generous donation of household goods and tools. Kevin McFall, Executive Director, along with some staff, accepted our collection efforts at their ReStore located at 2001 N. Rock Springs Road. They are open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 to 4:00. The Seminole County SPCA said thank you to FL1-W for their generous donation of blankets, dog food, leases, cat toys, kitty litter, etc. Ryan Berry, Manager Shelter Operations, accepted the donation at their facilities on 17-92 across from Flea World amid a chorus of barks in the background. They were very appreciative of the kindness demonstrated by FL1-W members.
